Pinterest Download Not Working?
Most failed Pinterest downloads come down to a few common causes. Work through the checks below and you will find the fix.
Check If the Pinterest Link Is Correct
A valid pin URL contains /pin/ and a numeric ID, or uses the pin.it short format. If you copied a board or profile URL by mistake, PinSavePro cannot resolve it. See how to copy a Pinterest link for the correct steps on each device.
Make Sure the Pinterest Pin Is Public
Open the pin in a browser without logging in. If it still loads, it is public. If Pinterest asks you to log in or shows an error, the pin is private, deleted, or from a secret board and cannot be downloaded.
Private, Deleted, or Restricted Pinterest Content
PinSavePro cannot bypass Pinterest access controls. Restricted content includes secret boards, region-blocked pins, and content Pinterest has removed for policy reasons. The fix is to try a different public pin.
Browser or Device Issues
- Try a different browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge).
- Disable aggressive ad blockers that might block download requests.
- Clear the tab cache and reload PinSavePro.
- On iPhone, save the video from the Safari player using Share then Save Video.
- On Android, check that Chrome has storage permission to write to Downloads.
Video, Image, or GIF Format Problems
Pinterest serves different formats for different pin types. A single tool cannot handle every case perfectly. Match the pin to the right tool:
- Video downloader for MP4 video pins.
- Image downloader for JPG, PNG, and WebP image pins.
- GIF downloader for animated pins (usually served as MP4 by Pinterest).
- Reels downloader for short vertical video pins.
- Idea Pin downloader for multi-slide Idea Pins.
Try the Correct Downloader
If a pin fails on one tool, open the same URL in the tool that matches the pin type. Videos, GIFs, and Idea Pins live on separate Pinterest endpoints and PinSavePro fetches them differently.
When PinSavePro May Not Be Able to Download
- The pin was removed by the creator or by Pinterest.
- The pin is behind a login or from a private board.
- The content is region-restricted in your country.
- Pinterest changed its internal URL format faster than we could adapt.

FAQ
Why is my Pinterest download not working?
The most common reasons are a private or deleted pin, a copied board URL instead of a pin URL, or a browser blocking the download. Verify the link is a public pin, try another browser, and use the right tool for the media type.
Does PinSavePro work with private pins?
No. PinSavePro only reads what Pinterest exposes publicly. Pins on secret boards or from private accounts are not accessible.
Why do I get an MP4 when I expected a GIF?
Pinterest stores most animated GIFs internally as MP4 for bandwidth. The animation plays the same way, and you can convert MP4 back to GIF if needed.
Downloads are slow. Is that PinSavePro?
Files stream directly from Pinterest's CDN to your device. Slow speeds usually come from your connection or Pinterest's own throttling for large files.
